Από τα πιο συνηθισμένα λουλούδια της άνοιξης, με εξάπλωση σε όλα τα Κύθηρα. Οι τρυφεροί βλαστοί του, πριν ανθίσει, είναι βρώσιμοι, κυρίως όμως στο νότιο μέρος του νησιού. Στο βόρειο μέρος ονομάζουν μαντηλίδα την άσπρη ποικιλία και την οποία προτιμούν. Επιστημονική ονομασία: Chrysanthemum coronarium, Χρυσάνθεμον το στεφανωτικόν Οικογένεια: Compositae Κυθηραϊκή ονομασία: Μαντηλίδα (Ν. Κύθηρα), Μαντηλίδι, Μαργαρίτα Ονομασία σε άλλα μέρη της Ελλάδας: Μαντηλίδα, Αγριοχρυσάνθεμο Συλλογή: Τη βρίσκουμε σχεδόν παντού, σε χέρσες εκτάσεις. Ανθίζει από τον Ιούλιο μέχρι το Σεπτέμβριο. Τη συλλέγουμε όμως μόλις αρχίσει να ανθίζει. Ιδιότητες: Το βότανο δρα ως αρωματικό, πικρό, αποχρεμπτικό, καθαρτικό και στομαχικό.
