Από τα φυτά που ήταν αφιερωμένα κατά την αρχαιότητα στην Αφροδίτη. Είναι σκληρό φυτό και στα Κύθηρα υπάρχει σαν καλλιεργούμενο από πολύ παλιά, χωρίς όμως ιδιαίτερη περιποίηση. Επιστημονική ονομασία: Punica granatum, Πουνική η ροιά Οικογένεια: Punicaceae Κυθηραϊκή ονομασία: Ροδιά, Ρωγδιά Ονομασία σε άλλα μέρη της Ελλάδας: Ροδιά, Ροϊδιά, Ρωγδιά Συλλογή: Χρήσιμα μέρη της Ροδιάς είναι τα άνθη, τα φύλλα, η φλούδα και οι σπόροι του καρπού. Η Ροδιά καλλιεργείται συνήθως στον κήπο του σπιτιού. Οι καρποί συλλέγονται το φθινόπωρο. Ιδιότητες: Η φλούδα χρησιμοποιείται ως παρασιτοκτόνα ουσία που καθαρίζει τα έντερα. Τα λουλούδια και η φλούδα προκαλούν στύψη και χρησιμοποιούνται σε διάρροιες, δυσεντερίες, αιμορροΐδες κ.α.  Οι καρποί είναι χρήσιμη τροφή για όσους έχουν πνευματική εργασία.
