Die Venezianer bauten 1580 im Schloss von Hora eine katholische Kirche zu Ehren „unserer Dame der Lateiner“. 1806 wurde sie als orthodoxe Kirche im Namen Panayia Myrtidiotissa gesegnet. Die Ikone von Panayia Myrtidiotissa wurde in dieser Kirche für fast zwei Jahrhunderte versteckt gehalten, wegen der Furcht vor Diebstahl durch Piraten. 1842 brachte man die Ikone zum Kloster von Myrtidia zurück. Nahe der großen Kirche ist die kleine Kirche von „Panayia Orfani“, die der Kallonas Familie gehörte. Die Ikone und die Erbstücke des Agarathos Klosters von Heraclio, auf Kreta, wurden dort für 300 Jahre gehalten, als Kreta von den Türken besetzt wurde.
