Diese Kirche wird auf einer felsigen Steigung über Kapsali, in einer Höhe von ungefähr 60 Metern aufgestellt. Agio Ioannis ist eine Kirche in einer Höhle, in der Pillgerer in zwei Zellen Unterkunft fanden und dort wurde zusätzlich eine Küche gebaut. Die Originalunterkunft wurde vielleicht im 17. Jahrhundert errichtet, während die Erneuerung des Klosters in 1725 durchgeführt wurde, wie durch die Beschreibung am Eingang des Klosters angegeben. Die Legende sagt, dass Ioannis anfing, seine Apocalypse in diese Höhle zu schreiben, bevor er nach Patmos ging.
