Die Folklore-Sammlung von Kythera stammt aus einer Spende des Lehrers Dimitris Lourandos (persönliches Werk des pensionierten Direktors der Grundschule), der mit seinen Schülern über viele Jahre hinweg die Objekte seiner persönlichen Sammlung zusammentrug. Diese Artefakte sind ein Zeugnis des Alltags vergangener Tage auf der Insel. Heute befindet sich die Sammlung in der alten Stadthalle neben der Polizeistation in Chora.
